Addicted to coping

Designed to help individuals, families and communities of color better understand how and why addiction, mental illness and trauma manifest. Discussion and activities include but are not limited to:

  • Recognizing trauma (Big T and Little t) and its effects

  • Identifying different types of addiction

  • Generational and historical impacts

  • Positive coping skills and techniques

  • Referrals to community resources

DURATION: 4 hours

COST: $45 per person (includes materials and meal)

Crafting my cope

With a foundation of Social and Therapeutic Crafts and Horticulture, this workshop gives participants a positive outlet for healthy emotional expression. Discussion and activities include but are not limited to:

  • Use of live plants as art

  • Guided drawing / painting

  • Music/sound therapy

  • Education on why and how art/horticulture/music therapy work

DURATION: 3 hours

COST: $50 per person (includes materials and meal)

Faith in recovery

For faith communities and faith-based organizations who want to expand their current or start a new recovery ministry. Discussion and activities include but are not limited to:

  • Avoiding burnout (for faith leadership)

  • Celebrate Recovery and other recovery support groups

  • Generational and historical components of addiction and mental illness

  • Referrals to resources

DURATION: 2 hours

COST: $25 per person (includes materials and meal)

Designed to help individuals, families and communities of color better understand how they are affected by the Opioid Crisis. Discussion and activities include but are not limited to:

  • Various forms of opiates

  • Generational and historical impacts

  • Narcan

  • Referrals to resources

DURATION: 4 hours

COST: $65 per person (includes CEUs, materials, and meal)

  • Reducing Mental Health stigma in the workplace
